Blair is a Professor of Practice of Acting and Movement at Southern Methodist University. She teaches a comprehensive performance making methodology and pedagogy rooted in African American (generations-old) performance traditions and aesthetics, called SoulWork. She is the first person to become certified to teach SoulWork, and her expertise as a SoulWork instructor includes acting, movement, voice, and community engagement. This movement branch of SoulWork focuses on building a kinesthetic awareness that allows for freedom of the the body while exploring physical impulse from a state of emotional availability. Blair uses this method to curate theatrical experiences, train practitioners and future theatre professionals.

"SoulWork empowers artists to engage the fullness of their identities by cultivating creative power through an inclusive, culturally responsive, and socially conscious studio practice."

- Dr. Cristal Chanelle Truscott
